review for Lucky Strike,59 Grand Street,New York, Karim

Can't say too much about this place as it was the last place we crawled into and it was very late. But it's basically a Euro style bistro owned by some geezer called Keith McNally.

After perusing the menu it all seemed to be relatively simple fare. However, having not eaten there, it would be unfair to comment except to say it all seemed reasonably priced.

The staff were friendly and in one particular case very cute...

We consumed cocktails and JD from the copper covered bar and crawled out and attempted to remember which hotel we were staying in. End of a top night, oh and the bar was fine too.

Paul..

Been here a few times now, and I have to say I like it. There's not really much to the place - just a fairly small thin bar area with seating and eating towards the rear.

Relaxed atmosphere makes it a good place to chill at the end of an evening and talk drunken bollocks. Only a little heavy on the wallet, but it's open past many others (and just around the corner from the Soho Grand when they chuck you out after closing), so you don't mind if it is.

Always seems to be a cab waiting outside just for us too :-)
