Member Benefits (why should you sign-up?)

Hello, thanks for checking out the member benefits!

Most things you can read on this website don't require you to login, or become a member. However, the real value in the site comes from your input as well as ours. Everyone can benefit from each others experiences, ideas, tips and recommendations.

More than that, it's great to be able to identify with people that have similar interests, or simply share your stories, pictures or life with others! Below you'll find some of the great benefits that come when you sign-up. And the best thing of all - they're all free!

Access to the members profile pages

As a member you will have your own homepage. This lets you set-up basic details about yourself, such as your name, location, occupation and so on. You can choose to show as much, or as little as you like.

You can also add your interests, favourite movies, books etc, and then search for members who have similar interests to yourself! Members can send each other short messages, and you can include a picture of yourself in the profile too. Yes, ok - social networking!

Favourites

As you browse around the venues on the site, if you are logged in as a member you are able to add a venue as one of your favourites. You can add your own score and a short comment. Favourites then get added to your homepage, and can be seen by other members. You can also search for other members with the same favourite venues as yourself

Mapchat

Chat with your friends or just random strangers using our Mapchat. A graphical chat facility where Google maps meets chatting, meets Thursday Club membership. Choose from a number of different interest areas.


Pictures and Movies

In various sections of the site you are able - as a member - to add pictures and links to videos. For example, you can add pictures of your nights out at a venue in the picture gallery for that venue. Or, add a link to a location video for a venue also.

Over time we will be expanding this facility to include pictures related to a particular city, or just within your own profile page, so that you can create your own albums.

Reviews

You don't have to be a member to add a basic comment about a venue. However, if you'd like to add a full review - especially for a venue without an official Thursday Club review, then you need to be signed in to do that.

You are able to add the same level of detail as a Thursday Club review, with a full review body, marks for atmosphere, service, WYD and food, in addition to plus and minus points and a 'final word'. Other people will be able to see all the reviews that you've made, and where you feature in the member rankings! Can you become our top reviewer?

Venues

We do our best to add new venues, but there's just so many and so many places that we need your help! As a member you can add new venues (which go through an approval process prior to publication). You can add the basic details, and help locate the venue on the map. Why not add your favourite local haunt? Or the cool new place you found on your last travels? I'm sure everyone would love to hear about it!

News & Gossip?

Heard some juicy gossip? Got an amazing place to recommend? City tips or celebrity spotting? Once you've signed-up, you can add news items to the site. These show up on the homepage, the main news pages and the city news tabs.
